The VILTIN contemporary art gallery launched in 2008 in the heart of Budapest, where an exhibition space and a project room totaling 200 square meters allowed two programs to run simultaneously. Operating from 2014 in a spectacular all-glass, ground-level space within the city's central cultural district, the gallery will transition to a new exhibition space opening on October 22.

Upon opening, VILTIN was immediately invited into the international art scene, becoming a regular at ARCOmadrid, Art Dubai, and the art fair of Vienna, and later at Art Paris, as well as taking part in Art Brussels and Artissima in Turin, among others.

VILTIN's program presents progressive, technically diverse artistic practices that reinterpret traditional artistic genres through solo and curated group exhibitions. Since its foundation, the gallery has been committed to strengthening the position of unique works on paper.

While VILTIN has welcomed international projects over the past decade, this has now evolved into a conscious Central and Eastern European focus, reflected in its roster of artists, which now includes creators from the region. Representing prominent, acclaimed masters, mid-career artists actively shaping today's art scene, and emerging talents, their success is proven by numerous art prizes and participation in international biennials and exhibitions. Several also have international representation, which is increasingly important today.

VILTIN has been a member of the Association of Hungarian Contemporary Galleries since 2011.

Among the works on display at VILTIN’s booth this year, a network of connections forms rather than a single narrative. Body and landscape, living and artificial, analog and digital, gesture and system continuously fold into one another. The selection makes visible how familiar forms lose their fixed meanings and then reorganize in new contexts.
