Ar2day Gallery was founded in 2009 by Ildikó Benkő, who had previously worked in the field of design and interior decoration for nearly fifteen years. Following the 2008 financial crisis, her goal was to create a contemporary art gallery that follows the approach of American and Western European commercial galleries, bridging the gap between the worlds of art, design, and interior architecture. The primary mission behind founding the gallery was to promote high-quality Hungarian contemporary art to a broader audience and to strengthen the connection between artists and collectors.

Ar2day Gallery represents trained Hungarian contemporary artists with unique visual styles whose works not only carry artistic and investment value but also integrate harmoniously into various residential and commercial interior settings. Consequently, the gallery places special emphasis on collaborating with interior decorators, designers, and interior architects.

In 2014, the gallery relocated to 2 Szalay Street in Budapest's 5th District, where it hosted its exhibitions and art events for many years.

A selection of the paintings and sculptures displayed in the public spaces of the Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest were previously acquired by the hotel from Ar2day Gallery. As part of this collaboration, the gallery has regularly organized the Kempinski Art Soirée event series since 2013, presenting three-month exhibitions of individual artists represented by the gallery in the hotel’s Promenade area following each vernissage.

Over the years, the gallery's exhibitions have been opened by renowned art and cultural professionals, including Kata Oltai, Zoltán Rockenbauer, Krisztina Üveges, Dénes P. Szabó, Júlia Bacsek, Péter Antalffy, and Richárd Kosinszky.

Starting in 2026, Ar2day Gallery operates at a new location: 18 Stollár Béla Street, 1055 Budapest. The gallery welcomes visitors, collectors, art lovers, and professional partners by prior appointment for personal artwork viewings and consultations. This approach allows visitors to enjoy a quiet, personalized art experience and a detailed introduction to the artworks.
