Pillangó Project by ArtRúm
Co-founded by Fruzsina Kacskó and Andrea Rumiz
Pillangó Project is an independent platform for contemporary art, co-founded in 2024 between Vienna, Budapest, and Trieste. It is dedicated to supporting and empowering emerging and independent voices—primarily in the visual arts, while welcoming bold collaborations across performance, sound, movement, and beyond. Pillangó works to bridge artistic talent with relevant opportunities, building a framework for cultural activity that is responsive, sustainable, and grounded in real-world connection.
The project draws from a network of cultural professionals, collectors, and institutions who share a belief in the transformative role of art in shaping society.
Since its inception, Pillangó has initiated collaborations with ReA! Milano and presented exhibitions at Palazzo Cusani (Milan), Magazzino 42 (Trieste), and in a series of creative, temporary spaces in Vienna. These early projects reflect our nomadic approach—bringing art into dialogue with unconventional settings and diverse audiences.
We are proud to collaborate with and showcase a growing circle of artists, including Parella Armand, Maria Belova, Thean Chie Chan, Massimiliano De Florio, Laura Fiume, Valerie Habsburg, Huba Hőnigh, Édua László, Lodovico Pastor, Simona Tavassi, Júlia Végh and Marco Vignati, to name a few.
We are currently developing our next series of collaborations, cutting-edge presentations, and thematic exhibitions across Central Europe and Italy, with plans to expand toward international partnerships and site-specific initiatives.
If you are an artist, curator, institution, or collector interested in working together, we would be glad to connect.
