MissionArt Gallery

In the past 35 years MissionArt Gallery has organized more than 320 exhibitions, focusing on modern and contemporary art. Some of the 50 books and catalogues published are scientific monographies or reference books. There have been more than 300 articles published by the press, and MissionArt’s international events have been followed by accounts in Die Zeit, the Los Angeles Times, Süddeutsche Zeitung, the Financial Times and others.

The four artists exhibiting at the Missionart Gallery’s stand: Emese Bács (painter), Orsolya Góra (painter), Emese Somogyi (sculptor), and Annamária Székely (painter), are all representatives of the traditional easel painting and sculpture. They push the boundaries of figurative art, transforming reality while retaining its material appearance. Four artists at the peak of their careers approach the reality they experience from different directions, providing a kind of compass for the 21st-century viewers. Missionart Gallery has always emphasized the importance of preserving and carrying forward the traditional image-making. Colours, materials, sensory illusions, and the conscious and subconscious imagery are all present in the works on display at the gallery’s stand. Beyond continuing tradition, their common aim is to stop viewer for a second and make them reflect on the events of the world. All four artists exhibiting here are characterized by a long, thoughtful creative process in which they create a visual world that they ultimately leave to the imagination of the viewer to carry on.
